GALLO CORKED WINE

BY MONICA DOBIEE & J Gallo, the second largest wine producer in the world, has confirmed that some bottles of wine processed in their Sonoma, California, facility have been tainted with TCA, which causes wine to be 'corked'. The contamination was first reported in the Wine Spectator, after a critic detected "chalky" and "bitter" flavours in a Gallo wine and arranged for it to be analysed.
