August 2nd, 2020 Levels of fraud have shot up during the Covid-19 pandemic with 77% of respondents to an August global survey by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) reporting that they had seen an increase. ‘Fraud in the Wake of COVID-19: Benchmarking Report’, is the second in a series of surveys of ACFE members looking at the pandemic’s impact on the fight against fraud and saw a sharp rise in August compared to May when the first survey was carried out and 68% of respondents reported seeing an increase.
