THE EU'S controversial 2002 food supplements directive is legally valid, the European Court of Justice has ruled, rejecting complaints by the UK health food sector over the law, in force from August 1. Because it allows only officially listed vitamins and minerals to be sold, the industry claims around 5,000 products are threatened, including more than 200 nutrients.
