FOOD MANUFACTURERS TOLD TO REGISTER VITAMIN A UNDER EU REACH CHEMICAL CONTROLS

THE EUROPEAN Commission has announced confectionery manufacturers and importers of vitamin A must register the use of this ingredient under the European Union's (EU) REACH (registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemical substances) system. The vitamin was previously exempt from REACH. They have to pre-register these uses by December 1 to benefit from a staggered registration timetable.
