FOOD, DRINKS COMPANIES TO BE PUSHED TO HELP INCREASE RECYCLING AFTER NEW EU LAW AGREED

THE EUROPEAN Union (EU) drinks industry will come under additional pressure to ensure its boxes, packs, bottles and cans are recycled after the European Parliament approved a revamped waste prevention directive. It insists that EU member states ensure that 50% of waste materials such as paper, metal or glass from households are re-used or recycled by 2020.
