BY KEITH NUTHALLBELGIUM'S poor environmental record in disposing of wastewater should be improved in future with the European Investment Bank (EIB) lending a further loan of Euro 75 million to Aquafin, the company managing treatment in the region of Flanders. Part of a 2002 pledge to lend Aquafin Euro 250 million in financing, the money will pay for the construction and upgrading of mains sewers, pumping stations and wastewater treatment facilities throughout Flanders.
