BY KEITH NUTHALL FIAT Powertrain Technologies is moving ahead with a groundbreaking development of new dual-clutch transmissions, with the Italian government stepping forward with Euro EUR16 million in regional aid. The money will go to the Fiat subsidiary's plant in Verrone, Piedmont, northern Italy, having been approved by the European Union (EU) executive, the European Commission, which regulates such government handouts.
