ESCALATING petrol prices in the USA are fuelling burglaries of fastfood fryer oil that is now being traded for almost US$2.50 a gallon on commodity markets, easily turned into engine fuel using a simple conversion kit. Recently, police arrested a man for stealing 2,500 gallons of waste oil from fastfood outlets in Washington state worth more than US$6,000.
