FAMILYMART BOOSTS GLOBAL OUTLETS

BY GAVIN BLAIR JAPAN-BASED convenience store operator FamilyMart plans to increase its number of outlets worldwide to 25,000 by the 2015 fiscal year, from its current 16,000 stores, according to its president Junji Ueda. The biggest increase will be in China, where it will boost its stores from 360 to 4,500 - centred on Shanghai, where the port-city has the infrastructure and distribution facilities to support the expansion.
