FAA SEEKS PUBLIC COMMENTS ON EXPANDING CERTAIN FUNDS FOR AIRPORT RAIL

The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has taken a further step towards freeing up ‘passenger facility charge’ (PFC) funds to be used for a broader range of airport rail services than is currently allowed.
Public comment has been sought on the reforms, which will broaden the criteria for projects eligible for funding.
At the moment, PFC funds may only be used for srail projects on airport property for the exclusive use of airport customers and employees. The plan is to include more rail services that do not fall within this criterion.
