EUROPEAN Union (EU) institutions and national governments must proactively publicise the usefulness and availability of intelligent transport systems, to boost demand, and lower costs by creating economies of scale, claim MEPs. The European Parliament transport committee said these safety systems were currently too expensive: "penetration rates remain very low in relation to their potential."
