EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT SAYS EU ENERGY TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY SHOULD GO NUCLEAR

THE EUROPEAN Parliament has called for a European Union (EU) Strategic Energy Technology (SET) plan to focus research resources on nuclear power generation. In a report on the European Commission-drafted technology programme, MEPs said "research and design resources should support both third and fourth generation nuclear technologies." The plan is designed to cut the time required to develop new energy technologies.
