EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT PRESSES FOR FOOD INDUSTRY HELP IN FIGHTING OBESITY

A EUROPEAN Parliament report has suggested that European Union (EU) legislation could ban the marketing of sugary fatty foods to young people, should the EU food industry continue such advertising. Belgian Liberal MEP Frédérique Ries suggests the food industry self-regulate marketing. However, should that fail, the Commission should "come forward with legislative proposals".
