EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ACCOUNTS NOT APPROVED

THE EUROPEAN Environment Agency (EEA) is the only European Union (EU) agency whose 2011 accounts have not been approved by the European Parliament’s budgetary control committee. MEPs cited concerns about the agency’s public procurement procedures, which have been the subject of a probe by EU anti-fraud agency OLAF. “There is too much ambiguity,” said Finnish conservative MEP Petri Sarvamaa.
