EUROPEAN COURT OF JUSTICE MAY FORCE ITALY TO END DRICRIMINATION AGAINST FOREIGN LECTURERS

The president of the association of foreign lecturers in Italy (Associazione Lettori di Lingua Straniera in Italia - ALLSI), David Petrie, has welcomed the European Commission (EC)’s referral of Italy to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) for its continued discrimination of foreign lecturers working in Italian universities. However, he said that the case will have no immediate impact on the unwavering plight of foreign lecturers in Italy for equal rights and equal pay.
