EUROPEAN COMMISSION UNVEILS NEW PROTECTION FOR STAFFORDSHIRE CHEESE

THE EUROPEAN Commission has announced England's Staffordshire cheese, Spanish cauliflower Coliflor de Calahorra; German grated horseradish Bayerischer Meerrettich and Bayerischer Kren; and German table carp Holsteiner Karpfen have been granted geographical indication protection within the European Union (EU). Products carrying these names cannot be marketed within the EU unless manufactured in their historic home regions by accepted production methods.
