EUROPEAN COMMISSION TABLES RIGHT OF MEMBER STATES TO GRANT AID FOOD PRODUCTION RESEARCH

THE EUROPEAN Commission has announced that European Union (EU) member states can grant aid food production research projects without having to ask its permission. Brussels currently controls such subsidies.
Under the new detailed rules suggested, food companies and research organisations would be able to request 100% funding of projects from their national governments, who would be authorised to make these payments without asking the Commission first.
