BY ALAN OSBORN THE EUROPEAN Commission has drastically watered down a European Union (EU) alcohol abuse action plan, which health campaigners fear was in response to a powerful lobbying campaign earlier this year by the drinks industry. Earlier drafts from Brussels indicated that producers would have been forced to print health warnings on labels and restrict or censor advertising.
