EUROPEAN COMMISSION DROPS TAIWAN, MALAYSIA FABRIC DUTY PLANS

THE EUROPEAN Commission has abandoned plans to impose anti-dumping duties on imports into the European Union (EU) of synthetic staple fibres of polyesters (PSF) made in Malaysia and Taiwan. The decision follows the withdrawal of complaints from EU producers about alleged cut-priced imports into Europe of PSF. EU ministers could reverse the decision, but this is unlikely.
