EUROPEAN COMMISSION ADVISES ON TAPPING NEW SEVENTH FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME

RESEARCH has never been so important to the institutions of the European Union (EU), and this is not only reflected by the large budget of the oncoming seventh framework programme, but =its orientation towards projects aiding economic growth.
The European Commission says in a report that the FP7 places "greater emphasis" than its predecessors "on research that is relevant to the needs of European industry, to help it compete internationally, and develop its role as a world leader in certain sectors."
