An interim report from the European Universities Association (EUA) on the pattern of public funding for universities has highlighted how the character of funding for HE institutions in Europe is changing, largely though not entirely, as a result of the economic pressures facing governments. The key to getting adequate funds these days is efficiency, says the report.
