BY KEITH NUTHALL A NEW opinion poll released by the European Union's (EU) polling organisation Eurobarometer has shown that supporters of nuclear power have a tough task ahead persuading EU citizens that their technology is the answer to global warming plus high oil and gas prices. Of these 48% of the 29,430 people polled backed solar power as a preferred alternative to carbon-based energy, with only 12% supporting more nuclear power.
