EU TO REPAY UKRAINE OVERCHARGED ANTI-DUMPING DUTIES ON STEEL AND IRON PIPES

BY MJ DESCHAMPS The European Union (EU) will have to repay Euro EUR3.5 million to Ukraine steel company Interpipe, after the EU Council of Ministers' accepted a judgment of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) that the original level had been calculated in error. As a result Interpipe's duties will fall from 25.1% to 17.7%. And because the lower level will be backdated to the date of entry into force of the anti-dumping duty - June 30, 2006 - the EU will have to hand back excess duty taken from the Ukraineans - full name: Interpipe Nikopolsky Seamless Tubes Plant ...
