EU TEXTILE CHEMICAL BAN PERFLUOROOCTANE SULFONATES – PFOS

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Commission has proposed effectively banning the use of perfluorooctane sulfonates (PFOS) within the European Union (EU) on health grounds: available as salts, derivatives and polymers providing grease, oil and water resistance to textiles. It has tabled a directive preventing PFOS use in textiles, upholstery, leather and clothing.
