EU SUGAR RESTRUCTURING FUNDS WILL BE HELD OVER

MONEY left unspent from a temporary restructuring fund for the European Union sugar sector after its fourth and final year of operation (financial year 2009-10) will be transferred to future EU budgets, earmarked for sugar-related investments, the European Commission has confirmed. Germany, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, Romania, France, Slovakia, Lithuania and Bulgaria had feared unspent money would be diverted to other uses.
