EU RUSSIA PLAN ENERGY HOTLINE

THE EUROPEAN Union and Russia are discussing forging an energy crisis hotline, which would enable officials in Brussels and Moscow to instantly access each other to head-off potential disruption to gas and oil supplies through political problems or technical accidents. The plan has wide support amongst member states, who want agreement secured at a planned May EU-Russian summit, in Samara, southeastern Russia.
