The European Commission has proposed a major piece of environmental legislation designed to spawn detailed pan-European Union (EU) rules imposing sustainability standards on paint and coatings companies selling into the EU. A key plank of the current Commission’s European Green Deal strategy, this proposed EU ‘regulation on eco-design for sustainable products’ would allow the EU executive to implement sector-specific requirements.
