March 1st, 2011 BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Commission is fighting European Union (EU) member states who want to tightly restrict the use of creosote across Europe. It has proposed a regulation under the EU's biocides directive saying creosote can be widely used, with appropriate protection for manufacturers, end-users and precautions to prevent creosote polluting watercourses.
