BY KEITH NUTHALL A EUROPEAN Union (EU)-funded research project commanding Euro 4.6 million in EU money is to develop antibiotics to combat highly drug-resistant bacteria pseudomonas aeruginosa. This accounts for a significant percentage of hospital-acquired infections, noted the European Commission.
