EU RELEASES GALILEO CONTRACTOR SHORTLIST

EUROPEAN aerospace players have been named in an 11-strong shortlist of applicants to build the first complete network of European Union (EU) satellite navigation system GALILEO. They have been chosen by the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA), and have been narrowed down to a choice of two per task - with one job, launch services, having a shortlist of one: France's Arianespace. As for the other tasks, they are:
*System support - ThalesAleniaSpace's Italy operations; or the Netherlands' Logica;
*Ground mission systems - ...
