The European Union (EU) has continued to intensify sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, imposing further bans on exports of paint and coating industry products. With (as of September 12) 5,827 civilians having been killed in the resulting war, the EU has banned the export to Russia from all member states of fingerprinting powders, dyes, and inks; graphene nanomaterials (which are increasingly used in high tech coatings); and electroplating equipment designed for coating parts with nickel or aluminum.
