A EUROPEAN Union (EU) expert panel has warned about potential mental damage caused by paint strippers containing dichloromethane (DCM). Its scientific committee in health and environmental risks says there is clear evidence of "neurobehavioral changes...after acute exposure to 193 and 300 ppm (parts per million) DCM in air".
