BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has issued guidance on how food labellers should comply with the European Union's (EU) new regulation on health and nutrition claims, which came into force on July 1. From now on, any new claims made on food packaging will have to be examined by EFSA and approved by the European Commission. EFSA has released advice on this process, covering tests, documentation, claims wording and data collection.
