EU NO-DUTY QUOTAS

KEITH NUTHALL
THE EUROPEAN Commission has proposed creating an unlimited duty free European Union (EU) import quota for 2005 supplies of a non-woven material, because of a supply shortage in the EU. Assuming they receive formal approval from the EU Council of Ministers they will be deemed in force from January 1. Any exporter can make use of these quotas. The non-woven concerned is central elastomeric film laminated each side with spunbonded filaments of polypropylene, weighing 200 g/m2 or more but not exceeding 300 g/m2.
