EU NEW RULES PROMPT BANGLADESH TO INVEST IN AIRPORT SECURITY

STEPS are underway to improve airport security in Bangladesh after the European Union (EU) introduced strict checks on airborne cargo originating from Bangladesh. On June 1, the EU added Bangladesh to its list of high-risk countries it considers have inadequate airport security. This means cargo originating from Bangladesh must be examined in a third country facility before reaching EU airports.
