EU NEGOTIATES TRADE DEAL WITH MOLDOVA

THE EUROPEAN Union (EU) is speeding up cooperation with its eastern neighbours following the Russo-Georgia conflict. It has negotiated a trade deal with Moldova - allowing it to export duty free to the EU between 15,000 to 34,000 tonnes of sugar; and 1,000 to 1,500 tonnes of dairy products from 2008 to 2012.
