EU MINISTERS SAY SCIENTISTS MUST HELP DRAFT EUROPE’S NEXT WATER POLICY PROGRAMME

EUROPEAN Union (EU) ministers have said Europe's top scientists should be part of a review of the EU's water policy, which will yield a new blueprint in summer 2012, designed to safeguard Europe's threatened drinking water resources.
In detailed guidance to the European Commission, which is drafting this document, the EU Council of Ministers has stated there is a "need for improving the interface between science and policy to enhance evidence-based decision-making..."
