EU MINISTERS ORDER CASH ASSISTANCE FOR MALTA TEXTILE WORKERS

MALTESE clothing and textile workers who recently lost their jobs in layoffs are to receive Euro 681,207 from the European Union (EU) in social assistance and retraining packages. The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund - designed to help Europe cope with worldwide economic change - will assist 675 workers who lost their jobs last summer from VF (Malta) Ltd and Bortex Clothing Ind Co Ltd.
