THE EUROPEAN Commission is drawing up an action plan on encouraging Internet technologies in hospitals and health administrations, including the development of interoperable health care information systems, on-line and digital patient records, plus services such as teleconsultation and e-prescribing. Brussels also wants to improve information on the healthcare rights available to European Union (EU) citizens visiting a foreign EU country.
