EU EXTENDS CHINA ANTI-DUMPING DUTY FOR CERAMIC GLAZE INPUT BARIUM CARBONATE

THE EUROPEAN Union (EU) Council of Ministers has extended for five years a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of China-made ceramic glaze input barium carbonate. Barium carbonate is used primarily to make ceramic glazes; in brick and tile manufacture; and in the production of ferrite. The duties were first imposed in 2005 after claims Chinese exporters were dumping cut-priced barium carbonate on EU markets.
