EU EXPANSION

KEITH NUTHALLTHE INTERNATIONAL Road Transport Union (IRU) has called on the European Union (EU) to take precautions in preparation for the admission of new Member States from the east, to make sure the EU road haulage market is not flooded with cut-priced cowboy hauliers from these former communist countries.It has spoken out as negotiations intensify to admit the first wave of eastern European countries - probably Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Estonia by the end of 2005.
