EU EVIDENCE WARRANT APPROVED BY MINISTERS

THE CREATION of a European evidence warrant has been agreed by the European Union (EU) Council of Ministers, which will enable courts and prosecutors to avoid complex national red tape when securing documents from foreign member states. The warrant should be established within two years for all EU countries except Germany, which has sought and received an exemption for six offences.
