THE NEW European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has started work in Stockholm, its permanent home, electing Dr Marc Sprenger, director-general of the National Institute for Health and Environment in the Netherlands, as chairman of its management board. Dr Meni Malliori, assistant professor in psychiatry at the University of Athens becomes deputy chair.
