EU COMMISSION ADOPTS FIVE YEAR STRATEGY ON ORGANISED CRIME

The European Commission has unveiled a European Union (EU) Strategy to tackle Organised Crime 2021-2025 (1), a coordinated approach to stop organised crime groups exploiting cross border differences in policing and judicial systems within the 27-country bloc. The EU executive estimates that organised crime costs the EU EUR139 billion a year in lost revenues. So, an effective response makes good financial sense.
