EU CHEMICAL CONTROLS

THE EUROPEAN Commission has proposed the potentially toxic chemical trichlorobenzene (TCB) should not be used as a dye carrier, where its concentration is 0.1 per cent or more by mass. If the European Union (EU) Council of Ministers agrees, these dies could not be used or sold in the EU. The move follows a European Commission assessment of TCB's risks to human health and the environment.
