EU AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER STANDS FIRM ON BIOFUEL TARGETS

THE SCRAPPING of the European Union's (EU) 20% biofuel expansion target is far from assured, EU agriculture Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel has stressed. In a tough speech backing biofuels, she said not only would just 15% of EU farmland be needed to reach the target, 58% of the rapeseed required would be processed into animal feed.
