EU AGRICULTURAL SPENDING MAINTAINED – EU COUNCIL – FINANCIAL PERSPECTIVES

FOOD and agricultural spending by the European Union (EU) will fall from 2007-13 under a medium-term budget agreement struck by member states. It will decline from Euro 43.1 billion in 2007 to Euro 40.6 billion in 2013. Between those years, spending will be Euro 42.7 billion in 2008; 42.2 billion in 2009; 41.8 billion in 2010; 41.4 billion in 2011; and 41 billion in 2012, (at 2004 market prices). That said, the reductions are far less than originally sought by Britain and governments may "transfer additional sums" to rural development ...
