ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE SAYS INDUSTRIAL PLANT EMISSIONS RULES NEED OVERALL CAP

A UNIVERSAL cap on emissions of certain unhealthy pollutants must be set for industrial plants across the European Union (EU), the European Parliament's environment committee has said. Amending EU legislation limiting industrial emissions of SO2, NOx, dust and CO, amongst others, MEPs said that while special limits were required for different types of plants, they should not exceed an overall simple maximum limit imposed for all polluters.
