EIT LAUNCH ATTACKED BY RESEARCH UNIVERSITIES

THE LEAGUE of European Research Universities (LERU) has attacked the publication on Wednesday (18-10) of plans to allow a European Institute of Technology (EIT) to issue degrees and suck money from the European Union's (EU) seventh framework programme (FP7).
LERU executive director Dr Katrien Maes (NOTE: SPELLING CORRECT) said: "Europe has a number of very good research universities. An initiative such as this will not contribute to strengthening them and will in fact detract from these universities' ...
