EIB TO FINANCE VILNIUS AIRPORT EXPANSION

THE EUROPEAN Investment Bank (EIB) is planning to lend EUR30 million to Lithuanian Airports (Lietuvos oro uostai), the Baltic state’s airport operator, to help rehabilitate and modernise Vilnius International Airport. Serving the country’s capital, the airport is the largest of Lithuania's four commercial airports by passenger traffic, handling 2.9 million passengers in 2014, but needs upgrading. The operator plans to reconstruct the airport runway in summer 2017, installing a new pavement, while revamping lighting, drainage, power and communications systems. ...
